We couldn’t agree more with that famous phrase, “There’s no place like home.” But let’s get real, sometimes “home” equates to nothing more than a bed and an empty refrigerator after a long, hectic week.
That’s when you need places like Aromas of India, where you feel like you’re visiting a relative or close friend for a home cooked meal. With décor and tastes so warm and welcoming, it just oozes comfort. Located a stone’s throw away from the Little India MRT on a quiet stretch of Race Course Road, Aromas of India greets you with bright colours reminiscent of Indian festivities, hinting at the bold flavours showed off in their dishes.
Regardless of your order, you can expect iconic Indian spices to harmonize with fresh ingredients in a wonderful display of rustic fare. Offering a wide variety of dishes for carnivores, herbivores, and general om-nom-nivores alike, Aromas of India aims to please with equally hearty veg and non-veg dishes. Just don’t skimp on your daily serving of vegetables here- those were some of our favourites on the menu!
In all, Aromas of India is perfect for weeknight family dinners or for a casual catch-up. So although wearing ruby red slippers and clicking them 3 times may not bring you “home” per se, stopping here for a visit might bring you close enough. (Dec 2013)
